Description
Cohoba House is a lovely 4 bedroom villa in Belmont Estate on Tortola. This house is set in beautifully maintained gardens. There are some wonderful ocean views over the beaches of Long Bay Beach & Smuggler’s Cove. In the distance you can see Jost Van Dyke, Sandy Cay & beyond to the horizon.
There are 3 pavilions at this property, the main pavilion houses the living area with a cathedral-style vaulted ceiling & crafted louvered wooden doors which give the house a real Caribbean feel. Cohoba has been ‘wired for sound’ throughout & guests can enjoy music both inside & out! Between the living room & kitchen is an indoor BBQ area. The kitchen is well equipped with all the appliances you’re likely to need during your trip.
The dining room has a heavy wooden circular table, with seating for up to 8 guests. The room is decorated using original sculpture & a number of other artworks. To the rear of the dining room is an outdoor seating area with mature & attractive tropical plants in large ceramic containers. A convenient cloakroom is located at the end of this pavilion, together with an exterior door that opens to the side of the property & an outdoor shower for rinsing off sand when returning from the beach.
The master bedroom with King Bed is reached from the staircase at the end of the main pavilion. With its dark wooden furniture & sumptuous linens, this gives a calming colour scheme throughout with stunning ocean views! The en suite bathroom has twin washbasins & sizeable walk-in shower, a large window allows for more stunning ocean views. A couple of the guest bedroom pavilions, also have King Beds & are located to the east of the main living pavilion. Both are luxuriously spacious but at the same time very private & like the master bedroom have exquisite bathrooms & showers. Bedroom 3 is set a little further eastward, & has its own private seating areas, one just outside the bedroom. Bedroom 4 has a Queen Bed & is on the lower level of the main pavilion and although a little less spacious than the other bedrooms, its furnished to an equally high standard. There is a laundry room next to Bedroom 4 with washer/dryer for guest’s to use.
The pool has a generous deck space to relax & enjoy this property, a comfortable seating area is situated under the covered veranda, together with an impressive dining table easily seating up to 8 guests. A large, cushioned daybed at the end of the veranda is the perfect spot for reading, relaxing, or simply taking a nap.

BVI Vacation Villas has evolved from years of travelling around the British Virgin Islands & in particular Tortola & Virgin Gorda. The BVI, feels like HOME!
When I first visited Tortola in 1992, my husband & I thought this would be another fabulous holiday in a beach location. We instantly fell in love with these delightful picturesque islands & have been visiting for over 30 years now. Not quite retired yet, means we cannot spend our time in this wonderful location as much as we would like to. But, we try to walk barefoot, as often as we can!
So, marketing Villas on Tortola initially just came about through meeting Friends & Villa Owners on island. I helped a friend sell their Villa & rented it in the meantime. This opened up the world of Renting & Marketing Villas & the pleasure of seeing other guests enjoy Tortola for the very first time. We started with just renting a couple of villas in Long Bay on Tortola and as we became known by guests we started renting on the rest of Tortola. We now have over 60 villas on Virgin Gorda and throughout The BVI.
The BVI has a year round climate, & in fact I particularly love August through to October here. The weather is fabulous & it’s a great getaway from the ‘fast pace’ of life! It starts with carnival in August and slowly winds down until the whole place picks up again in November Just perfect for a slow paced, relaxing time on some of the best islands in the world.
