Escape to the Blue Ridge Mountains at Blue Ridge Escape! This beautiful log home is located in an upscale gated mountain community, with a huge common area on the river. There’s room for playing soccer or tossing a ball with your kids, plus access for inner tube and canoes as well as a pavilion overlooking beautiful water streaming by.
Blue Ridge Escape is a sophisticated cedar log cabin offering everything you’d want in a mountain retreat! The interior is stylish, with every amenity you’ll want during your mountain stay – from the jetted tub in the master bath to the game room to the extra kitchen downstairs. Be prepared to enjoy amazing sunsets and a view of Mt. Jefferson, plus surrounding pastures and countryside. Plus the river IS within walking distance!
Inside, you’ll be glad you chose this home for your vacation. The sophisticated rustic (not a contradiction in terms!) details and thoughtful touches make this a gracious cabin. The gourmet kitchen offers solid surface counters and stainless appliances (including a gas range) with plenty of counter space to prepare your meals and two places to eat on the main floor – a round table for ten (complete with lazy Susan), and another breakfast table with a great built-in sideboard where you’ll enjoy making your coffee in the morning.
The vaulted great room has a two seating areas including two sofas you’ll enjoy lounging while enjoying a fire in the stone fireplace. Nearby is a cozy TV room, complete with games.
After a day of mountain exploration, at night you’ll sink into the master bedroom’s comfy queen bed, or enjoy a soak in the jetted tub in the en suite bath (which also has access to the fenced dog yard so no need to get dressed before your canine companion goes outside in the morning or last thing before bed.) On the main floor you’ll find another cozy bedroom and bath.
This cabin offers the chance for your group to spread out for a range of activities. Downstairs you’ll find a pool table in the game room, a family room with another fireplace plus a second kitchen, and two more comfortable bedrooms with queen beds and another bedroom with two doubles.
Chill in the evening with the news or a movie – you’ll find TVs in the main floor sitting room, the master bedroom and another in the downstairs family room. Or play games! There’s plenty of room for extended family and friends in this cabin!
Location, Location, Location
Located just east of Jefferson, this cabin is also close to the Blue Ridge Parkway and Mount Jefferson park. About 10 minutes to Jefferson, 15 minutes to West Jefferson, you’re an easy car ride from all the towns have to offer. If you’ve never been, you’ll be enchanted by our quaint town of West Jefferson, with a walk-able downtown offering shops, galleries, restaurants (including two breweries) and a wine shop serving a variety of wines, beers and our locally made Molley Chomper cider. Music is a staple downtown most Friday and Saturday nights, including at the new Trent’s Tavern. Take in the arts at the monthly Gallery Crawls (second Friday, June to October, plus a holiday one).
Blue Ridge Escape is perfectly located to jump on the Parkway and head north to the historic Brinegar cabin located on the Blue Ridge Parkway in Doughton Park, where you’ll see how some people lived up here until the early 1900s. You can also head north on Highway 16 to Grayson Highlands State Park and get out in nature – including an encounter with the amazing wild ponies that graze throughout the park. Or head to Damascus, Virginia and rent a bike to enjoy the Virginia Creeper Trail.
