The Palms is private house, has great views of the beautiful Gulf of Mexico & is conveniently located on a short dedicated path to the beach.
It's the little things that make a big difference! Our house is stocked with a starter supply of consumable items, including coffee filters, hand soap, paper towels, toilet paper, dishwasher soap & garbage bags.
Well, if you have all THAT already covered, what should I bring?
Bathing suit, sunscreen, beach towel & flip-flops! Many guests also appreciate having insect repellent handy during certain times of year.
Most groceries, condiments & cleaning supplies are available on the Island or in Apalachicola, but you might want to bring aluminum foil, plastic wraps, sandwich bags & laundry/dish detergent.
Remember medications & bath products of which you’re especially fond of.
There are 2 seafood trailers located at the center of the island. Doug on the W. Gulf Beach Dr & Dale on E. Gulf Beach Dr...
The gas station has a Piggly Wiggly market, quality meats, seafood, veggies, groceries etc...
The Island Grocery also has a quality meat market/veggies & a variety of barbecue & smoked meats.
"Sometimes It’s Hotter" is our favorite place for Key-Lime pie, fresh bread, a large beer & wine selection, hot sauces & much more.
Ice chest on wheels, Big Wheel Beach/Fishing Cart, Beach Chairs, 1 Umbrella, bikes - all kept in our green shed
We participate in The St. George amenities program, including 2 community pools, 2 tennis, 3 Pickleball Courts, Clubhouse & fitness center, nature trails plus access to Bob Sikes Cut, & Nicks Hole.
Please note: At this time: Golf Carts are not allowed with rentals in our community but you may rent & use golf carts outside of our community.

Across the street from the beach. Obstructed Gulf Views (trees, houses) from the second floor, which still very nice. To access the beach we need to use boardwalks, which installed between every 5-7 houses. So you will need to cross the street in front the house, turn on the right or left (does not matter), pass 2-4 houses and you are on the boardwalk. It is a short walking distance, 3-4 min for young/middle age, 4-5 min for older.
We have miles paved bike path. Bob Sykes Cut (One Of The Best Fishing spots) is minutes away from our house. We are 24/7 gated community, which hosts two large swimming pools.
Upstairs kitchen, dinning room, living area, full bath/laundry, two furnished decks and screened porch provide a great place to enjoy a views of the Gulf. Whole upstairs area has a beautiful open floor plan with Vaulted Ceiling captivating into full picture window.
The kitchen is completely furnished with dishes, microwave, ice maker, pans, coffee maker, blender, etc. You can enjoy the view of Gulf while preparing your meal. The Bay side screened porch provides a great place to enjoy any evening.

The downstairs has four large bedrooms (2 of which are masters), 2 baths, and the living area. Each bedroom has a queen size bed. Three bedrooms have TV. All beds will be made for your arrival. Towels on each bed.
Our guests have easy access to the pools and tennis courts provided by our community. We have several bikes, beach chairs, toys and wagon in our storage. You are welcome to use them when you stay in our house. The natural beauty that surrounds The Palms Retreat offers all sorts of entertainment: Enjoy watching the birds during the day with binoculars. Also watch the planets and stars with our telescope in the evening.
An early morning stroll at the beach is almost a guarantee to see dolphins put on show for you in the Gulf. It's not uncommon to see them swim up as close as 150 feet to the shore, and you will certainly be impressed by their power. The sidewalks in the neighborhood offer a great opportunity to jog, bike, roller blade, or walk. The island is also a great place to catch up on your fishing, either from a boat or the coast. We are located 10-15 minute walk along the beach from the rocky canal at the Northwest end of the island that is known as a prime fishing spot.

Why this property?
Our family fall in love with St George Island after a few visits this magical place. In 2000 we bought our The Palms Retreat. In the beginning we signed with a local Island company to manage our house. However shortly we decided to manage our house ourselves because we wanted to give house and our guests personal attention and care which only owner can provide. It is important for us that our guests will experience the excitement we got every time we visit The Island.
We advertise our house on all major sites like VRBO, HomeAway, FlipKey, etc. However these sites charge substantial fee to travelers and us, owners. If you found this site and decided to book directly with us you will get the best rate. No travelers fee and our rate is better because we pass our saving to you.
We are visiting our house regularly. We also have a trusted team of maintenance technicians and housekeepers who are taking care of our house when it needs. We are serving all our appliances systematically and according their manuals because we want to minimize its unexpected failures. We are proud to report that out respond time on any telephone call from our guests is usually less than 1 hour.
