cottage features 1 deluxe California king memory foam bed (bigger than reg king),1 deluxe memory foam queen bed, 1 sleeper couch. This beautiful rental is nothing like any other beach vacation rental. You may not find another spot so close to the beach and bay (about 50 second stroll in either direction) yet, so peaceful and with such ambiance. It is in a peaceful private compound. Nothing refreshes like the smell the salt air sound of the waves, and the breathtaking views. You are almost certain to see Dolphins from our dock or from beach! You can literally watch the sunrise and sunset within about a 1 minute walk from each other! Not many places in the world you can do this.

Get away from it all!! Barbecue the fish you catch right on our gas grill. Unlike other areas with rocky or grainy sand beach, our beach has a soft white powder sand! Top Rated Coquina Nature Preserve short bike ride away. We provide our guests with a password to receive discounts on bikes, kayaks, Segway’s, etc. use the code and have bikes delivered to your door for just about $25/week! That's what some places charge per day! Great night life and restaurants just a short stroll away. Very comfortable Tommy Bahama furnishings with all the luxuries of home. NEW granite counter tops! Grand bathrooms with Italian tile and thick glass door shower. Absolutely beautiful! No matter who you know, or how hard you try, you may never find a more serene setting at my reasonable rates.

3: Bring your skateboard and visit Bradenton Riverwalk which is just 20 minutes into Bradenton, Florida. For Anna Maria Island skating visit the HOLMES BEACH SKATE PARK.

Little Known Shipwrecks off the coast of Anna Maria Island

Regina Wreck
The Regina Wreck is one of the most famous shipwrecks in Florida. Throughout centuries of pirate dominance, epic storms, and tumultuous territory fighting and protecting of the barrier islands of Florida, numerous ships fell victims to the waters.
The Regina sunk with 350,000 gallons of molasses onboard in 1940 after four decades of active trade from Ireland to the United States. The boat sunk after a cold front and storm breached its hull.
But, the Regina is hardly the only shipwreck in the history of Anna Maria Island and the surrounding area. Below are four lesser known shipwrecks that have astonished historians for years with the stories they left behind.
Doc’s Barge
Doc’s Barge is a 150-foot barge broken in half and sunk to the waters. The history around this barge is murky at best. There is no clear origin for the wreck nor is there a reason for its “burial.” It is easily the most mysterious and shrouded shipwreck here. It is located about 18 miles from Long Boat Pass.
The barge is currently upside-down, and makes for some incredible spear fishing. Visitors to the barge can find some kingfish, record-snapping snapper, grouper, and amberjack. Manta rays with 8-foot wingspans are commonly sighted in the area.
Nohab
The Nohab was originally intended as a luxury “pleasure boat” from the Germans. It was built in 1901, but sunk in 1926 due to a hurricane in Biscayne Bay.
A California businessman made the effort to revitalize the ship, only to have it towed to Tampa in 1928 and sunk again. Clearly, the Nohab was cursed, as it was resurrected from the sea by Tampa officials and sunk a third – and final – time.
The 142 foot x 23 foot boat was nothing but a disaster and has become a running joke for locals who are aware of it. Its flattened pieces lay scattered over a few acres, with big parts of the engine, boiler, and twin shafts resting eternally about 15 nautical miles off Egmont Key.
Gunsmoke
True to its “little known” status, the Gunsmoke is an oddity of the island shipwrecks. It was an old shrimping boat that was transformed into a drug smuggler. It was scuttled in 1977 by her crew and now sits in 80 feet of water off nearby St. Pete. It is likely the least-known of the local shipwrecks and the one with only a handful of local visitors every year at most
Fin Barge
Fin Barge is just massive. This 300-foot barge has two large-scaled fin-shaped keels near the stern. It sits upside down about 85 feet under the water 25 miles off Long Boat Pass.
The Fin Barge is unique in that it remains (mostly) structurally intact. An open door by the bow allows curious divers a deep peak through the 300 feet of the boat’s length.
Fin Barge is little known, but a number of local divers can attest to its jaw-dropping population of Goliath Grouper which are known to be potentially aggressive.

But, the Regina is hardly the only shipwreck in the history of Anna Maria Island and the surrounding area. Below are four lesser known shipwrecks that have astonished historians for years with the stories they left behind.
Doc’s Barge
Doc’s Barge is a 150-foot barge broken in half and sunk to the waters. The history around this barge is murky at best. There is no clear origin for the wreck nor is there a reason for its “burial.” It is easily the most mysterious and shrouded shipwreck here. It is located about 18 miles from Long Boat Pass.
The barge is currently upside-down, and makes for some incredible spear fishing. Visitors to the barge can find some kingfish, record-snapping snapper, grouper, and amberjack. Manta rays with 8-foot wingspans are commonly sighted in the area.
Nohab
The Nohab was originally intended as a luxury “pleasure boat” from the Germans. It was built in 1901, but sunk in 1926 due to a hurricane in Biscayne Bay.
A California businessman made the effort to revitalize the ship, only to have it towed to Tampa in 1928 and sunk again. Clearly, the Nohab was cursed, as it was resurrected from the sea by Tampa officials and sunk a third – and final – time.
The 142 foot x 23 foot boat was nothing but a disaster and has become a running joke for locals who are aware of it. Its flattened pieces lay scattered over a few acres, with big parts of the engine, boiler, and twin shafts resting eternally about 15 nautical miles off Egmont Key.
Gunsmoke
True to its “little known” status, the Gunsmoke is an oddity of the island shipwrecks. It was an old shrimping boat that was transformed into a drug smuggler. It was scuttled in 1977 by her crew and now sits in 80 feet of water off nearby St. Pete. It is likely the least-known of the local shipwrecks and the one with only a handful of local visitors every year at most
Fin Barge
Fin Barge is just massive. This 300-foot barge has two large-scaled fin-shaped keels near the stern. It sits upside down about 85 feet under the water 25 miles off Long Boat Pass.
The Fin Barge is unique in that it remains (mostly) structurally intact. An open door by the bow allows curious divers a deep peak through the 300 feet of the boat’s length.
Fin Barge is little known, but a number of local divers can attest to its jaw-dropping population of Goliath Grouper which are known to be potentially aggressive.

Free trolley picks you up on our street corner and takes you anywhere on island and another brings you to see the sites of neighboring Sarasota! NO NEED FOR CAR!!
What makes this Cottage unique
We are on best part of island! Steps away from our our BRAND NEW dock on the bay where you can fish, kayak, or just enjoy the breathtaking scenery. Watch for manatee and dolphins! Return home and grill what you catch on our gas grill! This area offers best fishing I have ever seen and I have vacationed at the best fishing places in the Caribbean!
On the other side of property is our incredible beach which offers white powder sand and warm Turquoise water! Ride our bikes a short ways to Coquina Beach and enjoy all the public beach offering i.e., outdoor grills, beach volleyball, shopping, cafe on the beach and more! Just across street is the great Preserve called Baywalk at Coquina beach. COME be our guest and join the many who have become regulars.
For the health conscious, we have installed a $3000 water filtration system. Unlike other vacation rentals on the island that use public water which is heavily treated with CHLORINE and other chemicals our filtration system filters all this out. So, when you bathe, cook or, drink, know that you have the purest and only chemical free water on the island! Not only is this healthier in every regard but, women will notice that their hair is fuller and skin is softer after washing as their are no chemicals to make the hair limp or to dry out skin!
