Madre del Mar is a large group of 5-star rental homes situated on the beach front of Las Conchas in Rocky Point, Mexico. With its 4 independent houses, the Madre del Mar Villa can accommodate almost any family or group, from 2 to 20 persons. Owned by our family since before Rocky Point became a touristic destination, Madre del Mar offers great rental homes to spend a few enjoyable days directly on the beachfront, toes in the sand.
1. Casita East Side – Las Conchas
The east side of the walkway is on the left as you go down a few steps to the first landing of the Madre del Mar villa.
The front of the East Casita is walled in for privacy and safety. This creates a small private porch with table chairs and umbrella for your enjoyment.
The Casita is like a studio apartment. It opens on the great room. Directly to your left, you will find a kitchen bar with stools. Behind the kitchen bar on the far north wall the kitchen is equipped with a 4-burner cooktop, a sink, a good size countertop and cabinets with plenty of storage space.
Directly to your right side upon entering is the dining area with table and 4 chairs. You will find a coffee pot, a toaster, a microwave or a toaster oven, a blender, a refrigerator and purified water for drinking. Purified water is a great convenience in Las Conchas.
To your left, half-way into the casita, is a short hallway with a good size vanity with mirror and sink. Drawers are there for your use. The bathroom itself has a toilet and a large shower.
This Casita is decorated with lively colors of the Mexican celebration of dance music and colonial culture. It is lively and fun in its details.
There is a small TV on the kitchen bar and we keep a large library of films for all ages (just ask Kathy). The air conditioning/heating unit is a three-ton heat pump.There are three ceiling fans and 2 floor fans for additional comfort if wanted.
The Casita offers all the comforts of an top-notch rental home in Las Conchas.
The wall on the south side is all windows with a full view of the beachfront of the Sea of Cortez, with a bit of the courtyard.
The Casita East Side offers approximately 350-400 square feet of living space. This size makes it perfect for 2-4 people. It can accommodate up to 5 persons if you travel with small children. A great vacation experience in Rocky Point, especially in the private community of Las Conchas.
2. Casita West Side – Las Conchas
The west side of the walkway is on your right side as you go down a few steps to the 1st landing of the Madre del Mar rental home.
The front of the Casita West Side is walled in and creates a small private porch with table chairs and umbrella.
The Casita is like a studio apartment. The door opens on the great room. Directly to your left, you will find a kitchen bar with stools. 3. East Rental Home – Madre Del Mar Las Conchas
We called the beachfront rental home on the east side of our Madre del Mar Villa ‘the Mexican Village’… due to its decor.
Upon entering it, you are in the great room. The kitchen is to your right. It is a full kitchen with a double sink, a large stove, a refrigerator, and a large cabinet for all your household needs during your vacation in Las Conchas.
It is equipped with a coffee pot, a toaster, a microwave, a blender, and a variety of pots, pans and dinnerware. A large dining table seats up to 8 people.
The living area of the great room features two large sofas, a coffee table and a TV with satellite connection. You will immediately notice the large fireplace.
Beside the fireplace, two French doors lead to a large porch that has a shade overhang and lots of beach chairs and lounges. Walk down a few steps and you are directly on the beachfront, toes in the sand.
The decor of this great room is a mixture of fish, birds, plants and flowers. Colorful, relaxing and enjoyable. Perfect for a great vacation vibe in Rocky Point.
The great room of the East rental home gives direct access to the bedrooms and bathrooms. The first bedroom is nicknamed the ‘Mexican Garden Room‘. It has 3 windows facing the ocean.
It is a large room with two queen beds, a large dresser with mirror and a closet for your hangs. It is decorated in a Mexican garden theme: a fun, playful room with lots of color and busy with details.
The double-bathroom connected to this bedroom is fully tiled and also decorated in a Mexican garden theme with flowers and potted plants. From a distance the double shower looks like a little house and it is decorated with ocean fish.
The great room also opens up on the master suite. Just walk up 2 steps.
This master suite is nicknamed the ‘Sea Breeze’ and it is decorated with sea life and birds in flight. The room theme reflects the beachfront situation of our homes.
The suite features a queen bed, two easy chairs and a table for relaxing and looking outside. Perfect for a lazy day breakfast on the beachfront!
The in-suite bathroom has a great deal of flair with all its red tile work and glass blocks for the shower curtain. The closet doors in the bathroom are full-length mirrors which add a good deal to its traditional charm.
4. West Townhome: Aztec & Navajo
The beachfront rental home on the west side is nicknamed 'Aztec & Navajo'.
Upon entering it you are in the great room. The kitchen is to your left. It is a full kitchen with a double sink, a large stove, a refrigerator, a large cabinet for all your household needs during your vacation in Las Conchas.
There is a coffee pot, a toaster, a microwave, a blender, and all the pots, pans and dinnerware you need. A large dining table will seat up to 8 persons.

Like in the other rental home of the Madre del Mar Villa, you will notice the large fireplace. A rare treat in Las Conchas, and we have been told there are not many rental homes in Rocky Point with that much character!

Decorated in Navajo colors it showcases dimensional artwork. This bedroom is colorfully finished, with the Navajo theme extending to the ceiling.
The double bathroom connected to the Pueblo Bedroom is fully tiled in a Navajo theme. We found an antique dresser to use as a bathroom sink stand and an old hutch that adds a great deal of charm to the tile work and mirrors.

The great room of the home opens up on the Master Suite atop a couple of steps. We have called this suite the ‘Sand & Sea’ room: it is decorated with shells of all kinds and sea vessels.

I am Kathy Mazel, a daughter, a sister to 10 other siblings, a mom to two daughters and a grandmother to six. Raised in Tucson, I lived there till I chose to make Las Conchas in Rocky Point my main home. I live in Las Conchas now most of the time.
I love taking care of our Madre del Mar villa for our family and guests. We think family! We enjoy sharing this special beach front rental home with other families and for friendly gatherings.
I always emphasize that Madre del Mar is sitting directly on the beach front. Walk down the staircase, you have your feet in the sand. We are located on the far east end of Las Conchas, in the most desirable area of Rocky Point. Originally built in 1985, Madre del Mar has seen continuous renovations and additions. A traditional Mexican home in design and architecture, it features a large courtyard with shaded overhangs, potted plants, a cozy atmosphere and incredible views on the pristine beachfront.
As you will see when you rent with us, the villa offers plenty of space, both indoors and outdoors, with 4,500 square feet under roof and twice that space in parking and courtyards, all walled-in for privacy and security.
You will love visiting with us. ‘Mi Casa es su Casa‘, as we say here in Mexico.
