This cabin in the Smoky Mountains is situated on a private creek, providing a tranquil and picturesque setting. It is conveniently located close to all the area's attractions, yet secluded enough to allow for a peaceful and relaxing stay. The cabin features high speed internet, a fire pit, a fireplace, a hot tub, and a couples jacuzzi, making it the perfect destination for a romantic getaway or a family vacation. Whether you're looking for a quiet escape or an adventure in the great outdoors, this cabin in the Smoky Mountains is sure to provide a memorable experience.
The space
Upon pulling into the private driveway, you'll find your own hidden gem in complete seclusion. For your safety we have installed a Ring security camera flood light and a Ring doorbell at the front of the home facing the driveway and front porch.
The Living Room
Enter the front door and you will be welcomed by the large stone wood burning fireplace. While you enjoy the fireplace you can relax on our comfy sofas and enjoy your favorite shows on our 65" smart tv. Just bring your account to keep up with your favorite shows. We offer high speed internet and provide the WiFi password upon check-in. The couch pulls out into a queen sleeper sofa for additional guests. We also offer board games for a family fun night!
The Master Bedroom
Walking into the master bedroom you will notice the master bath at the first door on the left and the master closet on the right. Then you're welcomed into the master bedroom with a king sized modern rustic bed and being overlooked by vaulted ceilings. There are two nightstands with an alarm clock and USB charging stations and a dresser. We offer comfy bedding and plush pillows for you to relax and enjoy a good nights sleep. Want to watch your favorite shows? We have a 55" smart tv that you can link your streaming accounts to. If you are a traveling professional, we have a work station in the corner of the room so you can set up your laptop and do what you need to in peace. To the left of the bed we have French doors that open up to a private screened in porch so you can enjoy the sounds of the creek down below.
Master Bathroom
This is where you get to unwind after a long day of hiking, shopping or family fun! We have a 2 person jacuzzi for romantic couples or to enjoy by yourself. Not only is it a JACUZZI but it also acts like a HOT TUB because it has the ability to heat the water on its own to 101F degrees. There is a large stand up shower that has shampoo, conditioner and body wash available. Also located to left of the sink is the control for the heated floor. There is a hair dryer in case you did not bring one. We offer enough towels and wash cloths for 6 guests.
The Kitchen
Looking to eat in for dinner? We offer a fully stocked kitchen with a coffee/ coffee pod maker that we offer free loose coffee. Or you can bring your favorite coffee pods from home! We have a large stainless steel fridge to hold all your groceries. There is a large oven with an electric stove top and a stainless steel microwave above. There is also a dishwasher with some supplied dish pods because who really wants to do dishes on vacation? We have supplied a spice rack with a variety of spices to make even the dullest of meals exciting! There is enough cookware, plates, bowls and cups for up to 6 guests.
Bathroom Off Kitchen
No need to share a bathroom with the master bedroom. This is a fully stocked bathroom with a tub/shower combo and a vanity large enough for two people to share.
Bedroom 2 The Loft
This space is great for the kids or another couple. Travel up our metal spiral staircase to get a birds eye view of the vaulted ceilings and the living room below. This space offers a queen sized bed for 2 with a new mattress, plush pillows and comfy blankets. We also have a dresser and a smart TV so you can bring along your account to your favorite streaming service to catch up on all your shows. Note that staircase may not be suitable for young children due to the steepness.
Outdoor Space
We have put a lot of thought into making our outdoor space unique in a way to show off our favorite feature. THE CREEK! Take a dip in our brand new 4 person HOT TUB that overlooks the creek. We have completely remodeled the exterior with a brand new wrap around deck so you have easy access from the front of the house. Take a walk to the back and you'll find a comfortable seating area when you wanna relax outside. We have added a comfortable seating area and a propane burning fire pit as well. There is a charcoal grill located at the front(charcoal not provided). What we are excited to add is our custom made 8' live edge bar top so you can enjoy a drink and create some lasting memories with friends and family. We've added string lights so that you can have that relaxing feel even at night. Want to get closer to the creek? Say no more.... We have added in a wide staircase going down to the pad under the deck which opens up to a pathway we have created with railroad ties and a rope railing to give us a unique look all the way down to our detached deck literally on the creek with a couple of adirondack chairs. We have even added railroad ties leading to the creek if you want to take a dip in privacy. Please note to use the creek responsibly and keep an eye on small children.
Guest access
You will have full access to all amenities on the property. The only two areas where guests are not allowed are the owners closet and the crawl space under the house.
Other things to note
We provide a starter pack for your stay. This includes but is not limited to 2 laundry detergent pods, 2 dish washer pods, 2 trash bags and a spice rack with various spices.
We supply 1 full propane tank for the outdoor fire pit per stay. After the tank is emptied, the guest is required to fill it up as needed.
Please note that there are stairs leading from the driveway to the house, spiral staircase to the loft and stair cases and walkways throughout the backyard which may pose difficulty to guests with disabilities. Please keep an eye on young children near all stairs and the creek. During the winter months it is recommended to use a 4x4. Being that we are set in the Smoky Mountains, you can expect to see some wildlife and ask that you do not leave food or trash outside or in vehicles. All trash should be placed in the metal trash can to prevent bears from getting in.
We try to offer as much as possible to guests in our kitchen but accept that we may not have everything you need. We welcome you to travel to the local stores in our area such as Walmart and Kroger which are each about 15 minutes from our home.
We offer HIGH SPEED INTERNET so that you can use multiple devices at the same time. We do not have cable for the TVs but all of them are smart TVs so that you can use any of your streaming apps on them. We just ask that you log out of them upon departure.
We live in the mountains so there are lots of turns and curves in the road. In the event of snow we do recommend using a 4X4 vehicle to make driving a little easier.
Please use stairs in back yard leading to the creek with caution. Steps may be slippery during rain or snow conditions.
Bugs / ladybugs
Our cabins are proactively treated monthly by a professional pest control service. Insects just find their way inside no matter what we do. Even after the cabin is cleaned, it takes only a few hours for bugs/ladybugs to appear. Of course they get trapped and die inside. This is especially prevalent in spring as they emerge and then again in fall when it gets colder outside. An expectation of completely insect-free environment is probably reasonable in a high-rise beachfront condo, but not in a cabin in the middle of the woods. Ladybugs (actually, Asian Lady Beetle) are harmless if not touched.
Wasps / carpenter bees
Wasps try to make their nests, usually under the roof overhangs and eaves, and some may get inside and die. We try to keep up as much as we can but they are often much faster than us. Carpenter bees (big loud black bees) are harmless to humans – they make a lot of noise and may hover around humans, but they do not have stingers. They do however damage wood by boring holes in it. They rarely get inside the cabin.
In addition to regular professional pest control, we also spray the cabins in early spring to deter the carpenter bees.
During the fall in order to keep up with leaves falling around the property, we will have our landscaper come out with a leaf blower to remove them from the driveway and decks.
Please stay on all walkways, paths and stairs to prevent falls and to avoid damaging property and coming into contact with poison ivy.
Please avoid walking on the stone wall in the driveway.
Hot Tub Cover must be placed back on hot tub when not in use to ensure proper temperatures are met.
Hot Tub is not in an enclosed area.
Wild life. We love the Smokey mountains because of the rich wildlife that we have as neighbors. It is common to see bears, raccoons and other various animals while you stay at our place. Please do not interact with wild animals and do not leave any food or beverages outside for animals to eat. They will get accustomed to it and could harm them in the long run.

About Hidden Creek Retreat
I was raised in Boston and have lived in Massachusetts all of my life. Some of my favorite memories have always been while on vacation with my family. We typically traveled to the White Mountains of NH every summer when I was a kid and I grew fond of being in the great outdoors. I have since created my own traditions with my wife and children as we travel to new places.
