Cedar sided, two-story, post & beam, lakefront year round house with 6 zone central heat and air conditioning overlooking private cove in Mallets Bay (Lake Champlain).
Enjoy total privacy in deep ancient forest, miles from civilization yet only minutes from downtown (the big city of Burlington!). Enjoy Vermont the way it was 200 years ago or go out for a night on the town. Downtown Burlington is just 20 minutes away...or visit Montreal (90 minutes).
The house has a completely modern w/ granite/stainless kitchen with custom cherry cabinets. It opens seamlessly to our 25' vaulted great room that also connects to a large 300 SF screen porch with terrific breezes. The floorplan of the house is of a "cross" with dueling master bedrooms (2) on the ends of each hallway. Each of these rooms enjoy French doors that open onto 60' X 20' Brazilian wood sun decks. There is a convertible office and a guest room on either wing between the dueling masters with superb views of the bay. The house includes three full bathrooms upstairs: One large slipper-clawfoot tub with a shower; One shower only guest bathroom off the Great Room, and a private newly renovated tub and shower bathroom that is en-suite to the master bedroom.
The house is built into a slope of a hill so the entire downstairs also enjoys water-views throughout every room. There is a kids bunkbed room with full size single beds. A mudroom for wet towels and changing or storing beach gear inside. An oversized entertainment room with three large leather sofas, a 50" HDTV with DirecTv loaded with premium channels, books and games. The house is well insulated and the upstairs can rarely hear the goings on below, and vice versa. Additionally there is the largest bedroom in the house, a downstairs master, with French doors to the lakefront and a queen size pullout sofa. The crown jewel however is the "rain room" bathroom that includes a 2 person sunflower ceiling shower in a marble lined steam shower. It powers up to full heat in minutes and it includes an in-shower stereo experience that is wifi connected via Bluetooth, Pandora, spotify music.
Outside we have an open air hot tub overlooking the lake, a 150 SF deck on the water for cocktails or those who want to be on the water without being ON the water. A fixed dock for swimming or sitting and a 400 SF floating swim platform. There are two beaches in front of the house. One by the dock gets sun all day and is perfectly exposed. Another "hidden beach" is off in a corner of our cove that is protected from most waves, wind, and even the sun after 2pm. It is perfect for little ones or anyone seeking a retreat.
Great for families, completely safe and natural. Easily accessible from NY or New England. BTV International Air is a 50 minute flight from NYC (Jet Blue).
Tennis Courts: A community tennis court is available for your enjoyment. We supply a few rackets and balls but bring your own just in case.
Waterfront: Perfect for swimming, kayaks, paddle boards, and day sailing. Fishing is also very good. We partner with lakefrontvt boat rentals and offer drop-off/pick-up service for your week for an additional charge. Swimming is accessible directly from the house and the water is very warm and clean in the summer months. We provide a canoe and to SUP paddleboards with loads of beach chairs and water floats/toys.
Other Amenities: Open air hot tub overlooking the water. Full central A/C and heat (6 zones). Wood-burning cast-iron stove in living room is great to heat up a cold night. Full swing-away Nano-wall doors completely open the outer screened deck to the living room and kitchen creating a monstrous Great Room that truly lives up to its name and cools off the entire house.
