This is an absolutely stunning Island home that has extraordinary panoramic views of the Intracoastal Waterway and the surrounding beaches from the third floor and widows walk. This five bedroom, four and ½ bath home, is located at the southern end of the Isle of Palms and is a short walk from the beach and the waterway. It’s location on the Island also makes it very easy to take a trip into historic Charleston, which is less than twenty minutes away.
9 on 2nd Avenue was modeled after the famous Ocean Club in the Bahamas with its indoor/outdoor oasis feel. The third floor, features the kitchen, living, and dining room. An outdoor cooking area is anchored just off the swimming deck, as well as access to a staircase leading up to the widows walk. Limited to four people at a time, the widows walk provides panoramic views of the beautiful Charleston Lowcounty. The church steeples of Charleston, the Copper River Bridge, Sullivan’s Island Lighthouse, Morris Island Lighthouse, and the ships entering Charleston Harbor can all be seen from the windows walk.
Located just off of the pool deck and living room is the kitchen and dining area. The kitchen featured at 9 on 2nd Avenue is a gourmet chef’s dream; it is home to all the best appliances available, complimenting the custom maple cabinetry and 5” thick honed Carrere marble countertop. The dining area is perfect for large families and can seat up to twelve. When you enter the first floor the extreme detail greets you starting with the den/media room. The den features masonry fireplace built with real Charleston brick, as well as, travertine floors, wainscoting, a custom butler's pantry with wine cooler, a subzero ice maker, and a microwave. Two bedrooms, one bathroom, and a full laundry are also located on the first floor.
The exquisite master suite is located on the second floor along with 2 other bedrooms. This room is a paradise that you will never want to leave. The master has its own private sitting area, heart pine flooring, and custom floor-to-ceiling wainscoting. The master bath is a place of tranquility featuring a custom plasma TV behind a two-way mirror, claw-foot-tub and separate over size shower/steam shower with rain head fixtures, and separate bath closet.
The exterior of this home and yard is meticulously maintained. Access to the beach is easy; there is access at both the public beach path at Third Avenue and along Ocean Boulevard across for Second Avenue. To make beach access even easier (or if you would like to ride to one of the Front Beach Restaurants in style), Golf Cart and Scooter rentals are available on the Island!
