Description
#2 and #3 of 16 NON-Smoking Private Motel-like Rooms Only 10 min from Ferry: each of these rooms are on the ground floor with 1 Full-Size bed and 1 single bed for 3 people. You're reserving only "ONE" of them upon availability (please specify if you're needing BOTH). It offers AC, Hot Water, WiFi, Cable TV, Mini Fridge, Daily Housekeeping, Body Soap & Shampoo, and Clean Linen & Towels. NO KITCHEN = NO Silverware or Dishware. On the property, there's an open BBQ Area that has 2 gas burners, a sink, lighting, electrical outlets for any small electrical appliances you would want to bring, and picnic tables. A unique attraction on site is the hummingbirds right outside your door! After a long hot day, cool down in our SMALL 9x14 waterfall pool. Even though we're "not" beachfront property, we're only 15min-30min away from them, we're located 2-5min walking distance from the center of town and the Bus Stop is located right across the street. Get a "budget" price staying in a clean BASIC minimalist accommodation. Thank you in advance for supporting the community when visiting Paquera, a little hidden gem off the beaten tracks of Costa Rica...
MORE ABOUT THE ROOM & ROOM SERVICE
CABIN #3 is near the Pool/Office. Parking is located in front of your private entry. It has a walk-in closet with 1 Full-Size Bed a and 1 Single bed, with desk drawers and a small TV. There's NO Kitchen or other furniture with a private bathroom toilet/shower and minimal cabinetry. We have left a "Room Service" booklet that has different menus from local cuisine, that delivers FREE of charge or a small delivery fee, it also includes a Directory of local Emergency services like Clinic, Police, etc., and the front cover has Wi-Fi passwords. TIP: when ordering delivery service, this is a place where fast food is cooked and served SLOW, so prepare to wait at least an HOUR (going in person won't change that much either). So if you're needing to be somewhere in a hurry, like the Ferry, you will miss your Ferry, if not ordering your food with at least an hour's notice (there are a few places that are an exception) but for the most part, be ready to receive SLOW and laid back service.
GUEST ACCESS
Everything... you're welcome to stroll around the entire property and help yourself to any of the organic seasonal fruits we may have growing (mangoes, guava, bananas, noni, papayas, sugar cane, coconuts, soursop/guanabana and hopefully avocados one day)!
WHEN CHOOSING YOUR CABIN
Please be advised, to pick a cabin according to the desired number of (size) beds. For example, this cabin has 1 Full-Size bed and 1 single bed for 3 people, if you're only 2 people, you'll still have to pay the full price of this cabin for 3 people. NO exceptions "upon arrival" we can't downgrade to a smaller 2-person bedroom and refund the difference, we can only make those changes 14 days prior to arrival, (upon arrival, we can only change rooms with the same price value or upgrade if available and charge the difference). This calendar, only shows availability for THESE cabins, if it's "not" available, please check the availability of my other cabins.
LANGUAGE, the country's main language is Spanish. Our staff only speaks Spanish being in a remote area, it's very difficult to find bilinguals but they do their best-using translators to communicate with you in "any" language. You can also contact me, I speak fluent English =)

There are also picnic tables. Please be advised to not leave any personal cooking items behind, we or other guests, will not be held responsible for them. Please show consideration for the next guest by cleaning up your area... BBQ WARE BOX is available "first come first serve" basis with a refundable $30 deposit. Included in the box are BASIC pots, pans, other cooking utensils, gadgets like a can opener, and even a sponge and dish-washing soap (SEE SAMPLE PIC). Please return when finished, so as to give the opportunity for others to use it or avoid falling into the wrong hands if left behind, resulting in the loss of your deposit...

It's with great sorrow, the Chinese Restaurant that was at Mapi's has closed and relocated to the center of town! But if you've been dreaming about a Restaurant business in this country or ANY other business of your choice, you can easily transform this building! Check this out while you're here and make it your reality! We have it up for Rent or Sale, the Sale price includes Liquor License and The Cozy Casita 2B/1B House on the back for only $250,000! =)
HUMMINGBIRDS & GENERAL AREA
What makes our place unique is the peaceful laid back atmosphere of the area, going back in time and enjoying the "simple" things in life... No smog or overpopulated chaos of the city's fast-paced momentum where nobody knows nobody, staying here a couple of days. you begin to feel part of the community when seeing the same daily familiar faces. Also, we welcome you to participate in the unique experience of hand-feeding these beautiful mesmerizing tiny hummingbirds! Ask my staff to give you a small hand feeder to give it a try...
TIP: The best time to try this is when they bring down the feeders to clean them because that's when they're swarming looking for a feeder and have no choice but to feed from your hands. Stand still and as quiet as you can, a good time for meditating =)
STANDARDS OF COSTA RICA:
~ Cold Water is the standard so most locals prefer it that way (we have 10 units with Hot water and 6 that have cold water ONLY, the units with HOT water are only offered here).
~ AC, is not the standard, not only because of its expense but many parts of Costa Rica are quite cool and not needed but our area is quite HOT, don't be fooled and make sure when offered AC, they're not offering just floor fans or ceiling fans which will just circulate hot air, we offer true AC.
~ Gratuities or Tips are not standard in Costa Rica, therefore you're not under any obligation but if you feel you have been given exceptional service, it will not jeopardize our employees to accept it, on the contrary, it will be appreciated being standard wages are low... We do suggest checking your meal tickets when dining out, to avoid double tipping being some establishments will already add it in, in form of a % service fee.

DISCLOSURES
EXCEPTIONS TO NOISE during the fiestas held across the street that most look forward to it or during high season if a lot of cars and trucks drive by or have many guests which "some" may be loud, we suggest to bring ear plugs being everybody has a different noise tolerance level, that may help you rest during these occasions (when the building we made the mistake of overlooking soundproofing walls and even afterward insulated bottom rooms ceilings to buffer the top floor noise, though you hear less, the issue remains. We could only post signs inside the rooms and pathways to please keep the noise down hoping everybody could be considerate and keep it to a minimum).
THIRD-WORLD ISSUES are faced here and we appreciate your understanding. More so, in remote areas, it's expected that services like Wi-Fi can be spotty at times or intermittent due to electricity not "always" reliable from mini surges to a few hours of no power (this is NOT an everyday occurrence but it does happen). We have had to disconnect the TV's and mini fridges when rooms are not occupied being these surges affect them. My staff tries before your arrival to connect it, this may be the reason why the fridge may not be cool enough or forgotten to connect. These shortages happen in your best Resorts throughout the country and it's beyond our control. Especially in these remote rural areas, we also deal with nature/monkeys crossing electrical lines and causing electrical interruptions. That said there are critters that can sneak in rooms or insects (also "not" an everyday occurrence but regardless of our regular fumigation and preventive measures this can still happen). TIP: please do your part in reducing the possibilities by "not" leaving doors and windows open longer than they need be and/or leaving piles of food in garbage pails, crumbs of food on beds, and floors, or else nature will find its way in, if giving them that invitation, WELCOME TO COSTA RICA. =)

~ Septic Tanks are standard so most places have garbage pails next to toilets, not just for diapers or sanitary pads but to actually throw ALL used toilet paper. We have septic tanks too, which maximizes pressure when doing this and contributes to easy flushings avoiding backups when on vacation, regardless, we still have our septic tanks cleaned year-round...

My wife and I enjoy fishing on our time off or making time for fishing, I found that niche in Costa Rica! We felt Paquera Costa Rica, was a peaceful place to relax, so much so that we made it our vacation home. We wanted to share this hidden gem with others offering the "basics" like AC and Hot Water, that when visiting here we couldn't find without having to pay more than we wanted to... I believe you don't have to break the bank when traveling and staying at Mapi's Cabins, gives you that possibility, offering only the "basics", and passing on the savings to you, so you can afford to go out exploring, fishing, Curu Reserve, Island hopping, bioluminescence night tour, seasonal whale and dolphin watching, golf, zip lining etc. Being able to spend more time with family and making memories is what life's about, it's no wonder it's "Pura Vida" in Costa Rica!
